Your privacy, clearly explained.
How The Mount collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you use our website and connected services.
Effective: October 6, 2026
Mt. Bethel Baptist Church (“The Mount,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through mtbethelmcdonough.org, My Mount, and related web forms and services; why we use it; and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you use the site, you may provide:
- Contact and account information, including your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, password, and authentication details.
- My Mount profile and household information, such as a preferred name, profile photo, birthday month and day, family relationships, emergency contact, ministry interests, serving assignments, registrations, attendance, and communication preferences.
- Prayer, baptism, membership, baby dedication, wedding, funeral, counseling, or other pastoral-care requests. These may contain personal or sensitive details that you choose to share.
- Messages, event responses, learning activity, form submissions, and other content you send through our services.
Prayer requests include sharing controls. We use the level you select to determine whether a request is limited to pastoral-care leaders, shared with the prayer team, or may be shared with the congregation. Please do not include information about another person unless you have permission to share it.
Information collected automatically
When you use the site, our systems and service providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, timestamps, security events, and error logs. The site also uses session data and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, prevent duplicate submissions, protect forms, and improve reliability. We do not use this website to sell targeted advertising.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve the website and My Mount.
- Create and manage accounts, profiles, directories, and permissions.
- Respond to care requests, prayer requests, questions, registrations, and other communications.
- Coordinate ministries, events, volunteer service, member care, and church administration.
- Send service messages and, when you choose, ministry, event, email, text-message, or push-notification updates.
- Detect abuse, troubleshoot problems, enforce our terms, and satisfy legal or recordkeeping obligations.
When information is shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information only as reasonably needed with authorized church staff, ministry leaders, or volunteers; with people you authorize through a selected sharing or directory setting; and with vendors that help operate our services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with an organizational transition.
Our website currently relies on services that may process information:
- Supabase for account authentication, databases, and application services.
- Netlify for website hosting, delivery, and serverless functions.
- Cloudflare for anti-abuse protection and delivery or storage of media and documents.
- Google and YouTube for calendars, videos, and livestreams that you choose to view.
- Meta/Facebook for church livestreams published on Facebook.
- Oracle Cloud for the church-operated livestream relay.
- Tithely and PayPal for giving and payment services.
Giving transactions are completed on the payment provider’s service. The Mount does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account credentials through this website. Embedded content and external sites may collect information under their own privacy policies.
Cookies and local storage
Essential cookies, authentication tokens, and similar browser-storage technologies support sign-in, security, saved preferences, and core site functions. Embedded video, calendar, livestream, or payment services may set their own cookies when you interact with them. You can limit cookies through your browser, but some account and form features may no longer work correctly.
Mount TV administrator account access
Mount TV Automation is a church-operated integration for authorized administrators of our own YouTube channel and Facebook Page. An administrator may connect those accounts to let the church relay create, start, manage, and end livestream broadcasts. Watching Mount TV does not require connecting your Google or Facebook account.
With the administrator's permission, the integration accesses the connected channel or Page identity, broadcast titles and descriptions, video and stream identifiers, broadcast status, and streaming connection details. It stores authorization tokens and application credentials in restricted storage on the church's relay server. These credentials let the relay perform the authorized livestream actions without asking the administrator to sign in for each service.
We use this information to operate church livestreams, confirm that broadcasts belong to the church, recover from interruptions, and display the correct public video on the website and app. Public broadcast identifiers, titles, status, and videos may be shown to viewers. Authorized broadcast requests and video streams are sent to the selected platforms, which process them under their own terms and privacy policies. Account authorization tokens and application secrets are not displayed to viewers or included in public website code.
We do not sell account-access data, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models. Mount TV's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention, disconnection, and deletion
Authorization credentials are retained while the church connection is needed, until an administrator replaces or removes them, or until a deletion request is fulfilled. Broadcast metadata and church recordings may be retained for ministry archives and operational records. An administrator can revoke Google access through Google Account connections, revoke Facebook access through Facebook's app or business integration settings, and contact us using the details below to request deletion of locally stored credentials or account-access data. Removing authorization stops future account access; recordings already published on YouTube or Facebook can be managed separately on those platforms.
Your choices and controls
- Update available profile, directory, and communication settings in My Mount. Directory participation is optional, and you control which available profile fields other members may see.
- Use an unsubscribe or preference control when one is included in a message. Operational or security messages may still be necessary.
- Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Some information may be retained when needed for security, legal, financial, pastoral, or church-record purposes.
Security and password protection
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee complete security. When you create or change a password, the site may compare an anonymous partial password hash against a known breach database; your password itself is not sent to that service. Keep your sign-in methods confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, support ministry and church operations, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or security obligations. Retention periods vary by the type and purpose of the information.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. A parent or legal guardian should submit forms for a child, including baby-dedication or youth-related requests. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information without proper consent, contact us so we can review and address it.
Pastoral requests and emergencies
Online forms are not emergency services and are not monitored at every moment. Do not use them for urgent medical, safety, or crisis needs. Call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service when immediate help is needed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or practices change. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or an appropriate account notice.
